Marvin Minsky
Marvin Lee Minsky (1927–2016), cognitive scientist and co-founder of MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Widely considered a founding father of artificial intelligence. Named in victim Virginia Giuffre's handwritten journals listing men she was directed to have sexual encounters with by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Giuffre separately testified in deposition that she was directed to have sex with Minsky on Epstein's private island, Little St. James. Listed in Epstein's contact directory. Epstein was a significant donor to MIT and the MIT Media Lab, a relationship that became the subject of internal MIT investigations and the resignation of Media Lab director Joi Ito in 2019. Minsky died January 24, 2016, at age 88. Never criminally charged. Named as Tier 1 (Direct Evidence) based on victim journal entries and deposition testimony.
